Profile

Renatta, plastic artist.

An artist of the plastic, has the possibility of guiding the eye of the spectator towards the aspect that he wishes to make notice, adding to the real, a truth that emanates from his personal philosophy, his emotion and his need to project some idea.

Made up of natural, unrepeatable and unique forms that human beings cannot create with all their technology, the landscape and the human body provide me with elements on which I explore, which give them different arguments in other settings. My work connects and connects me with a poetic vision, an intense feeling of identification and attraction towards nature in its unique forms.

It is about stopping to observe what we all have in view, at the naked eye of the passerby for whom it is everyday, but who, for my searching eye, has special magnetism. It's about capturing a natural sigh, a momentary vision, and hanging it in an enduring window. Keeping an evocation within the limits of a frame is a game that I enjoy and therefore I search vehemently. Whether it is a fragment of the body's landscape, some hills, the clouds or the trees that surround it, the joy comes from the moment that the mind evokes and the pleasure of having witnessed it.

Like a cat on its legs that is always caressed with renewed love, I return again and again to paint those clouds, the mist, a wave, the leaves of a banana tree, as well as some thighs, a back, some arms that rest or they surrender with abandon or absentmindedly, but almost always without revealing their face, since I don't care about the identity or the logic of time or place.

In my work I live a changing and evolving experience that never ends, like the horizon that is visualized from afar and pursued, but never reached. The commitment is intimate and with myself and it keeps me moving ... constant experimentation with oil paintings, pastels, watercolors, inks or the various possibilities of engraving.

I am Renatta Vega Arias and I do what I think I came to do in this life, because despite the natural human tendency to forget it in the midst of the chaos and crises of this world, beauty exists and the certainty of it must be kept fresh. , so that it continues to be so and nourishes our souls and hearts.
