Profile

I am Ivanna Sola, teacher and glass artist.

Art has always been present in my life, and it is my passion, since I was a child I painted, wrote, I was always creating something new.

I am self-taught, I love to explore and experiment.

My artistic process began 7 years ago in a moment of change in my life where I met the glass, this material that captivated me, then I dedicated myself to study it.

The workshop is my creative space, where my soul expresses itself, that's why my workshop is called Alma. There I think and sketch my ideas in drafts and then materialise them, turning them into a challenge.

I chose glass because it is a material that caught me.

Connecting with glass is a journey through the history of humanity, through its capacity for transformation, making it possible to use it in utilitarian, aesthetic and scientific pieces... when we believe that we modify glass; it transforms us, it teaches us to be patient, to observe its behaviour, to stop the certainties of our mind, to overcome the frustrations of all the elements involved in the creation of a piece, the materials, their reactions, the furnace and the temperatures... It also teaches us not to give up on the idea of making a piece of glass.

It also teaches us not to give up, it leads us to balance and every day it invites us to face new challenges because it offers countless creative possibilities?

Every day my workshop becomes a kind of laboratory where I observe and experiment in a dynamic journey to create each work.

I am a lover of nature and it is my source of inspiration, its shapes, its colours, the manifestation of its immensity?

Critique of my work:

She is a very creative artist and has glass as her medium of expression. We love her work, she is always looking for new techniques, investigating, it is a pride that an Alchemist has that way of expressing what she feels in her works and that passion for glass.
